I noticed that the symbol changes for the same number each time you click "try again." And you can see that the same symbol is used several times in the same list. So my guess is that it isn't random at all...I just don't have the math skills to prove it.

In fact, without hitting "try again," try a whole bunch of different numbers. You'll see that you always end up with the same symbol.
