Cake Walk

I thought I would post some of the cakes I've made for birthdays, weddings, and school events over the last few years.  (Basically, whichever cakes I happen to have in my photo folder.)

Sean's do-over cake (He won a cake that his brother stole in the 2nd grade.
He told me the story, so I re-created the cake as a surprise for him. He LOVED it!)

Rainbows and Barbies

I took my second Wilton's cake decorating class at Michael's. I'm taking a class every Friday.
This week's project was a rainbow cake. The goal of this class was to practice icing a cake, using the star tips, and cutting it in half and tarting the cake (filling it). I put a yummy marionberry jelly in mine. I was really proud of how it turned out, but on the very long and hot car ride home it wilted a little and got a little smooshed in the box.
I forgot to bring my camera to class, so I took the photos post car ride.
At least it tasted good!

Speaking of cake, here is the Barbie cake I made for my friend, Marissa's birthday on Monday:

Still playing with Barbies...

This weekend, I attended a Bachelorette party for a very good friend of mine. As a surprise for her, I made a Barbie bride cake. The skirt was made of yummy Devil's Food cake. I am really happy with how she turned out.
