It's not about the cookies...

This beautiful article by Megan Seling is something that I was thankful for over this past holiday weekend. This is one of my favorite features in all of the years I've been reading The Stranger. It is honest and well written.
I actually cried a little when I read it.

Thank you, Megan.

And to everybody else:
If you have not read it yet, you really should!

I shed a few tears. It is hard being alone during this time of year - for me anyway.

i just read that and it is about the best thing to ever come out of the stranger. i'm impressed.
altho i do not deal w/depression and am in no way to the point megan is i did relate to her in one way. dealing w/anxiety for 4 years and then being prescribed paxil you do feel like you are carrying around a dirty little secret. it can be very shameful. i never took the paxil, but i have learned that the more i talk to people about my anxiety the better i feel. i no longer feel like i'm trying to hide behind looking like i'm "ok" when inside i'm not.
